Steps to Ownership
Launch Your Own Inspection Business in Just 7 Steps
Step 1: Book Your Introductory Call
Your path to ownership starts with a brief phone call with our Recruitment Team. You’ll learn about our company, support systems, and the opportunity ahead in your local market. Our team will also learn about you, your background, and your business goals to see if NPI is the right fit.
Step 2: Complete Your Franchise Application
Following your introductory call, our Recruitment Team will email you a link to our Franchise Application. Our application form helps us better understand your experience, financial readiness, and desired market.
Step 3: Review Our FDD
Once you’ve submitted your franchise application, you’ll receive our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)—a federally required document that outlines key details about our franchise fees, financial performance, and the mutual obligations of both franchisor and franchisee. It’s an important tool that helps you make an informed decision.
Step 4: Approve Your Franchise Territory
We’re proud to be one of the only inspection franchise opportunities to offer exclusive territories, meaning you’ll never compete with another NPI inspector in your area. Together, we’ll review key demographic and market data to define your ideal territory and secure it for your future business.
Step 5: Attend Your Discovery Day
Join us for Discovery Day to experience the NPI culture firsthand. You’ll meet our leadership and support teams one-on-one, tour our facilities, and dive deeper into how we help our franchisees succeed. Discovery Day can be virtual or in-person—and qualified candidates may receive a travel voucher if they choose to visit our Omaha, Nebraska headquarters.
Step 6: Sign Your Franchise Agreement
Once you’ve decided that NPI is the right fit, you’ll sign your Franchise Agreement and officially join our nationwide network of professional property inspectors. Welcome to the team!
Step 7: Complete Training & Launch Your Business
Your inspection business begins with two weeks of in-person training at our Omaha, Nebraska headquarters. During Week 1, you’ll get hands-on technical training on how to inspect a home from the foundation up; and in Week 2, you’ll learn business development and marketing from industry professionals, providing you the tools you’ll need to build, promote, and grow your new business.
Once you’re back home after training, our staff will coordinate ride-alongs with nearby inspectors so you can apply your new skills in the field. If you’re located in a state that requires a license to perform inspections, you’ll apply for your license shortly after training. When your license is secured, you’re ready to launch your business with full support from our corporate team.
