Warranties can provide great benefits for both your clients and you. The different coverages you offer can make you stand out from your competition, leading to more business. Especially when the market is hot and things are moving fast, every bit of leverage matters.
Set Yourself Apart
As much of an obvious choice as warranties seem, not every inspector in the industry offers them. Some don’t want to deal with the hassle of filing and settling a claim, while others think simply sticking by their work is a good enough service. However, clients see the warranties you offer as further verification that you’ll follow through on your word. If you offer a warranty that other inspectors in your territory might not, you’re well on your way to setting yourself apart and building rapport with customers. This one part of your business can solidify your market share!
Customer Satisfaction
Every customer likes to know that what they’re getting is dependable. And if a problem comes up, they want to be sure they won’t be left figuring it out for themselves. A warranty says to the customer that you want them to be happy and they can trust the work you do. They can also act as a way to mediate any conflict with customers that need to file a claim. They know you’ll be there for them to make sure they are taken care of. Happy customers will be more likely to recommend you to others, so each transaction is important for your growth. Even if your customer doesn’t use their warranty, that peace of mind goes a long way.
Protect Yourself
Taking control of the amount of risk you assume is necessary as a home inspector. Attaching a warranty to your services is another business safeguard you can implement. In the event a major issue happens, you need to be sure you have all your bases covered. The warranty can help with some of the settling costs and give you a process on handling claims. You’ll be able to better document things so you don’t leave a lot of information up in the air. Warranties can be a win-win solution for both parties involved by letting them know they’re both protected.
Build Referrals
Word of mouth marketing is one of the most effective ways to build your business. The more unique you are and the better service you provide, the more likely you are to get referred. Your reputation goes a long way, and a warranty can help it go one step further.
