President & CFO
President & Chief Financial Officer
David joined National Property Inspections as Business Manager in 2016. He holds a B.S. in Accounting and Mathematics from Buena Vista University and currently manages day-to-day business activities, performs the company’s accounting functions, coordinates software development and assists with long-term planning. In addition to his management duties, as President, David also helps train and mentor new franchisees and provides business management support for current franchise owners.
Founder & CEO
Roland Bates manages the day-to-day operations of National Property Inspections, Inc. and devotes his time to planning long-term goals for the business. He also works hands-on with new franchise owners, training them on industry practices and business management. Roland’s high energy, willingness to work hard and optimistic outlook are the cornerstones of NPI’s success. His easy manner and family attitude inspire a friendly, upbeat atmosphere within the company.
Before he founded NPI in 1987, Roland owned a general contracting company, which he ran for eight years. Prior to that, he spent five years as a property claims supervisor and regional claims manager.
Executive Vice President
Bill has been with National Property Inspections, Inc. since 2001. With more than 25 years of experience in marketing and sales management, he heads the corporate advertising functions and the NPI marketing department. Bill works closely with the NPI National Accounts department, winning commercial business for NPI franchise owners. On a daily basis, Bill handles customer relations and provides marketing training and support to franchise owners.
Vice President, Corporate Services
Chris works with national and regional companies within the NPI National Accounts department. With account coordination, he refers inspections to our franchisees and tracks the progress and completion of assignments to our client's satisfaction. Additionally, he applies his training and field experience by providing technical support services to franchisees as needed.
Shauna has 12 years experience in research and development of policies and procedures, and training manuals. She started at NPI in our National Accounts department, assisting with placement and follow-up of all inspection orders and invoicing. Shauna now works with NPI's Director of Recruitment to onboard new NPI and GPI franchisees.
National Accounts Manager
As manager of the NPI National Accounts department, Kenn guides our clients throughout the commercial inspection process. He serves as the central point of contact for our national clients.
Kenn also provides residential and commercial technical support for our inspectors. He teaches the commercial inspection segment of the NPI training program. Kenn has been with NPI since 2006.
National Accounts Supervisor
Dee assists the NPI National Accounts Department with placement and follow-up of all inspections orders. Her other tasks include conducting research projects and invoicing. She joined National Property Inspections, Inc. in 2006.
As a certified marketing coach and trainer for National Property Inspections, Inc., Kimberly helps franchise owners develop and carry out their marketing plans. She assists them in organizing their marketing goals and coaches franchise owners on exceeding their business objectives with strategic marketing, cash flow management and public relations. Kimberly works step-by-step with our new franchisees for the first 90 days and coaches our veteran inspectors in taking their business to the next level. Kimberly’s greatest reward is seeing our NPI family succeed and thrive.
Marketing Specialist and Designer
Sydney specializes in creative marketing strategy. With experience in art direction, brand development, content writing and social media management, she serves as NPI's in-house graphic and web designer. Sydney supports our franchisees on a daily basis with all of their print and digital design needs, giving them the ability to completely customize their websites and marketing materials at no outside cost. Sydney joined NPI in 2017.
Marketing Communications Specialist
Stepha has more than four years’ experience in marketing, web content creation and advertising, as well as five years’ experience teaching at the college level. Her specialties include blogging, social media, SEO, sponsored content and reputation management. Stepha joined NPI in 2017.
SEO & Marketing
SEO and Marketing Specialist
Zach brings five years of content marketing and SEO experience to our in-house marketing team. His areas of expertise include building marketing plans that increase franchise sales, optimizing web content for search and blog writing.
Digital Marketing Assistant
Adam's responsibilities on the marketing team include content creation for NPI’s websites, blogs and social media accounts. He also works on informational items to be sent to current and prospective franchisees. Adam joined the staff at NPI in 2020.
Accounts Receivable Manager
With a background in bookkeeping and office administration, Amy joined National Property Inspections, Inc. in 2019. As the Accounts Receivable Manager, her duties include invoicing, payment processing, data entry and records management.
Each year, Debbie coordinates the National Property Inspections Annual Conference. Her day-to-day operations consist of coordinating off-site home inspector special training sessions and ensuring the company’s disclosure documents are updated according to the latest Federal Trade Commissions (FTC) mandates, state rulings and requirements. Debbie also processes supply orders for the GPI franchisees in Canada and assures that all franchise owners carry proper and current insurance coverage. She’s been with NPI since 1995.
With a background in customer service and operations, Cami joined National Property Inspections, Inc. in 2019. As an administrative support, her duties include managing the front desk reception area, answering phones and processing supply orders for franchisees. Cami also coordinates all aspects of the monthly training sessions for new franchisees and assists with the administration of state licensing, continuing education classes and national accounts.
Lead Software Liaison & Engineer
Melanie has a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems and has been successful working as a Software Engineer and as a liaison between IT personnel and end users for the past 20 years. Here at NPI, she is responsible for providing software programming and support to our Franchisees as well as assisting with internal technical needs, research and planning. Melanie enjoys learning and teaching about various aspects of technology including web standards and accessibility.
Technical Supervisor & Training Administrator
A former NPI franchise owner and real estate agent, Jon joined the NPI corporate team in 2019. Before coming to the real estate industry, Jon served as President of Vale Training Solutions, a company that provides on-site and online training courses for claims specialists. With his inspection expertise and foundation in classroom instruction, Jon teaches and mentors new franchisees during their two-week training course in Omaha. He also handles technical support calls during and after office hours and guides franchisees through the state licensing process.
Independent Instructor, HVAC
Dave has nearly 30 years of experience in mechanical electrical technologies, as well as industry practice, training and consulting. He provides training relevant to residential heating systems, from forced-air systems, boiler and hydronic heating systems to heat pumps and air conditioning systems.
Independent Instructor, Plumbing
Since 1993, Brooke has provided comprehensive training in residential plumbing supply, waste and venting systems at the National Property Inspections Business and Inspector Training Academy. He is a master plumber with nearly 40 years of experience and has more than 20 years of experience as a plumbing contractor.
Independent Instructor, Information Technologies
Rory has more than 15 years of experience teaching computer technology and more than a decade teaching inspector device classes at National Property Inspections, Inc. The focus of Rory’s experience has been in computer networking, networking solutions, system design, installation and troubleshooting. He holds certifications with multiple industry-leading technology companies, including Cisco, Microsoft, Novell, Banyan and Nortel.
